An Inside Look at Alcohol & The Brain

How is a blackout like a seizure?  Does binge drinking actually cause brain damage?  Why does alcohol discriminate by sex?  This session addresses these questions and much more.  Come learn more about the physiology of alcohol and its impact on the developing brain and body.  This presentation covers alcohol “essentials” such as dosage, risk and protective factors, bystander intervention, and how to respond to an overdose.  Rooted in harm reduction, this session is designed to enhance participants’ understanding of alcohol use and abuse.  Audience participation is highly encouraged throughout this dynamic, fast-paced presentation.
