The event will take place on Wednesday, October 31, from 12-1 in 3019 WASS.

Come learn about opportunities for involvement with our ACLU-HLS chapter (including how to join the board) and the ACLU of Massachusetts.

HLS students will also have an opportunity to speak with past ACLU interns about their experiences interning for ACLU offices around the country, both state and national. Come mingle, meet other civil-rights minded students, and asks past interns questions.

HIP, along with the ACLU, BLSA, ACS, Alianza and the NLG, are hosting Nina Perales, Director of Litigation for MALDEF, to discuss her current work on voting rights. MALDEF’s docket includes cases that approach voting rights from multiple angles, including redistricting, identification requirements, and protecting minority voting rights. As a leader in the field, Nina will have the chance to share her work on those cases and her thoughts on voting rights, an issue that has gotten considerable attention in the lead-up to this year’s election.
