Recap of the Second General Meeting
Thank you for attending the second general meeting.
We approved the following 3 changes to the APALSA Constitution with a majority vote of the membership present at the meeting:
1. Create a new Public Interest Chair position
2. Separate out Academic/Professional/Alumni Co-Chair into Academic/Professional Chair and Alumni Relations Chair. The Alumni Relations Chair will work closely with the newly created APALSA Alumni Board and act as a liaison between the alumni community and the law school community
3. Amend the approval requirement for changing APALSA Board structure (e.g., adding new positions) from simple majority vote of membership to 2/3 vote of the Board.
If you are interested in the Public Interest Chair, please reach out to the co-Presidents (klee@jd13 or lguo@jd13).
Finally, we highly encourage current 2Ls (class of 2013) to consider running for the Board! With more experience at the law school and in other campus organizations, we strongly believe that 3L board members can add great value to APALSA.
