H.O.M.E. – HBLSA Orientation, Mentoring, & Enrichment
Chairs: Andrea Clay (’16), Charity Fort (’15), and Rena Karefa-Johnson (’16)
The H.O.M.E. Committee assists first-year members in the transition to law school, in general, and the Harvard and greater Boston community, in particular.
This committee’s notable programs include:
- Martha Vineyard Orientation Weekend – HBLSA’s yearly excursion to Martha’s Vineyard includes food, fun, drinks, games, ferry rides, and most importantly, instant love for your fellow brothers and sisters beginning their journey at Harvard Law School. We also get to enjoy a catered lunch at an alumni home on the Vineyard.
- Black Faculty Reception – In an effort to connect the African-American faculty of Harvard Law School with current students, HBLSA sponsors a special dinner during the Fall. This dinner provides an ideal opportunity for the magnificently talented Black HLS professors to connect with the next generation of African-American legal minds.
- Black Faculty Lunch Series – A continuation of the Black Faculty Reception, the Orientation Committee organizes a series of lunchtime discussions with Black members of the Harvard Law School faculty.
