The Upper-Level Ames Moot Court Competition was established in 1911 as the result of a bequest by the late Dean James Barr Ames. The Board of Student Advisers is charged with administrating the Competition, which over the years has become one of the most-anticipated events on the Harvard Law School calendar. Click here for a list of past winners of the Competition.
The Competition takes place in three rounds, beginning with the Qualifying Round (held in the fall of competitors’ 2L year), followed by the Semi-Final Round (held in the spring of competitors’ 2L year), and culminating in the Final Round (held in the fall of competitors’ 3L year).
Entering the Competition
Second-year students (or joint-degree students who are currently enrolled in their first year of post-1L law school courses) who are interested in the Competition should plan to attend an INFORMATIONAL MEETING on Wednesday, September 11th, at 12:15 PM in Pound 102. The Informational Meeting will cover the logistics of registering for and competing in the Qualifying Round, with time for Q & A. We will also distribute copies of the official rules. Students who cannot attend the Informational Meeting may instead ask a potential team member to attend, or see the official rules and registration form posted below (note that the forms below will be updated for Q-Round Ames 2013).
Individuals looking for teams and incomplete teams looking for additional members can visit the Ames Participant Matching Site to submit a listing and find contact information for others seeking teammates.
REGISTRATION FOR Q-ROUND 2013 IS NOW CLOSED.
