The Catholic Law Students Association is the on-campus home for Catholic students, faculty, and friends in the Harvard Law School community. The Catholic community at HLS is diverse but united by our faith. We would love to have you become a part of our vibrant community! CLSA prides itself on being an organization which is committed to providing spiritual, academic, and social opportunities for growth.
We host on-campus masses every other Sunday. There will be an on-campus mass on Sunday, August 29 at 6:30pm in Pound 100. The next one is the following Sunday on September 5 at 6:30pm in Pound 100. Thereafter, the masses will be held every other Sunday in Pound 335. We will post all the dates and locations on our website soon. We will also send the information out to our mailing list and have it available on the school’s events calendar.
Our social events include Christmas and Mardi Gras parties, semesterly Italian dinners in North End, and pizza dinners after our on-campus masses. We will also be making a CLSA intramural sports team this year.
We also help our often busy and stressed members attend to their spiritual life through our small faith groups and retreats. In the past, we have also had scripture study groups and rosary prayer groups, which we would love to revive with your interest. We are always on the look out for regular and onetime opportunities for community service.
We also host fascinating speakers of particular interest to Catholic law students. Past speakers include Judge Guido Calabresi of the Second Circuit and Professor Mary Ann Glendon, the former US Ambassador to the Vatican.
You can sign up to be a part of a sib family, which includes a 1L, a 2L, a 3L and an LLM or an SJD or another CLSA-affiliated member. We try to match you by your interest and will subsidize sib family get-togethers to facilitate friendships and mentoring relationships.
Find us at the Activities Fair and be on the look out for our welcome party later.
