Why should you get involved with the Harvard Mississippi Delta Project?
- Great opportunity to support projects in the Mississippi Delta
- The Delta Project has an entrepreneurial spirit and innovative approach to public service
- Pro bono credit
- Potential opportunities to travel to Mississippi
Students who join will choose a project interest. Projects are led by other students who have been affiliated with the Delta Project for at least one semester and have shown leadership skills and interest. Projects are ultimately supervised by Emily Broad Leib ’08.
Any HLS student is eligible to join the Harvard Delta Project and work on projects for pro bono credit. Students may also sign up for clinical projects in the Delta through the Health Law Clinic or through independent clinical credits.
To join, just send an email to email@example.com with your name and class year. If you see a project that particularly sparks your interest, please mention it in your message. And, if you have any special skills or a background that you think might be relevant, please let us know that as well.
Once assigned to a project, you must commit to performing a certain amount of work throughout the semester. You will also be asked to be in regular communication with the other team members on your project and with your team leader. If you are not placed on a project immediately, we will keep you on our mailing list so you can learn about future opportunities with the Delta Project.
