President – Jeremy Kreisberg
Jeremy is a 2L from New York and a 2010 graduate of the University of Michigan. During his 1L summer, Jeremy interned at the Health Division of the Office of Management and Budget. At HLS, Jeremy is an Editor on the Harvard Law Review and the Secretary of the American Constitution Society. During 1L, he was a research assistant for Professor Howell Jackson and the Submissions Editor of the Harvard Law and Policy Review. Before law school, Jeremy was a summer intern at Senator Schumer’s New York office and a play-by-play broadcaster for minor league baseball teams. Executive Vice President – James Torres
James Torres is a 2L from the California Bay Area and graduated from UC Berkeley in 2010. During his 1L summer, James worked as an Environmental Law Clerk at the District Attorney’s Office in Oakland, CA. In addition to HLS Democrats, James is a Senior Online Editor with the Harvard Law and Policy Review and a huge Bruce Springsteen fan.
Leadership Training Director – David Husband
David Husband is a 3L from Alexandria, VA, who graduated from the College of William and Mary in 2009 with a degree in History and Government. After graduating, he took a year off to conduct research for Professor Klarman at the Library of Congress and then interned with the White House Office of Presidential Personnel. After his 1L year, David worked at the Department of Justice in the Office of Legal Policy. During his 2L summer, David was a summer associate at Hunton & Williams LLP. At HLS, David has been President of the HLS Democrats, a Senior Editor for the National Security Journal, Careers Chair for the National Security Law Association, and the American Constitution Society National Liaison.
Senior Vice President – Andrew English
Andrew English is a 3L and Senior Vice President of the HLS Democrats. He graduated from Harvard College in 2007. After college, Andrew worked on the Hillary Clinton Presidential Campaign and for the polling firm Greenberg Quinlan Rosner Research. During his 1L summer, he worked for the Massachusetts Teachers Association, and he spent his 2L summer at the law firm Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP.
Senior Vice President / State & Local Government Director – Kevin Golembiewski
Kevin is currently a 3L. This past summer, he worked at the Mayor’s Office in Newark, NJ. During his 2L year, he participated in the Education Law Clinic, advocating for students with disabilities at the policy level. He spent his first law school summer interning at the public defender’s office in Charlotte, North Carolina. As a 1L, Kevin worked for the Mississippi Delta Project and the Prison Legal Assistance Project. He is currently a co-chair of the Mississippi Delta Project and leads the Project’s Mental Health/Substance Abuse Initiative. Kevin graduated from the College of the Holy Cross in 2010.
2012 Elections Director – Jessica Weiner
Jess Weiner is a 2L and 2012 Elections Director for the HLS Democrats. During her 1L summer, Jess worked in the Democratic National Committee’s Voter Protection Department. In addition to her involvement in HLS Democrats, she is on the boards of the American Constitution Society and Women’s Law Association and serves as an editor for theJournal of Law and Gender. Obama Campaign Activities Director – Jay Willis
Jay Willis is a third-year student at HLS and conducts the Obama re-election campaign involvement of the HLS Democrats. Before law school, he worked for a civil rights law firm in Washington, D.C. and interned in the offices of Senator Dianne Feinstein and Congresswoman Barbara Lee. Jay graduated from Berkeley in 2009 with a B.A. in Social Welfare.
Outreach Director – Jordan Grossman
Jordan is a 2L at Harvard Law School, where he serves as President of the American Constitution Society. Prior to law school, he worked for the Obama administration, the Obama-Biden Presidential Transition Team, and Obama for America.
Communications Director – Travis Miscia
Travis Miscia is the communications director of the HLS Democrats. He is a 2L, originally from New Jersey. He graduated from New York University in 2009. Prior to law school, he worked in marketing research. He also works as a genealogist.
Events Director – Ruthzee Louijeune
State & Local Government Director – Anthony Mariano
Anthony Mariano is State & Local Government Chair for the HLS Democrats. He is currently a 3L. Anthony is a graduate of the University of Michigan and is from Worcester, Massachusetts. In addition to his work with the Democrats, Anthony is an Executive Editor for the Harvard Law Review and a Peer Advisor for OCS.
