The 2013 Delegation to Hong Kong
A delegation from HALS visited the Hong Kong SAR in March 2013. Participants included organizers of the Asia Business Conference, members of various HALS organizational committees, and leaders of weekly language tables, among other HALS volunteers.
This year’s delegation explored the unique opportunities that Hong Kong’s status as a Special Administrative Region of China confers on the city’s business and political environment, and the legal issues and challenges that arise as a result of this city’s crossroads identity.
The delegation met with Hong Kong academics, law firms, government agencies, NGOs, among others in the city’s legal, political, and business worlds. By building connections between Harvard students and the professionals who make Hong Kong such a dynamic and rewarding place to work, HALS hopes to foster a lifetime interest in the region as a whole. The delegation would like to extend its sincere thanks to this year’s HALS sponsors, whose generous support makes this exciting opportunity possible.
