As the local chapter of the American Bar Association (ABA), the Harvard Law School Student Bar Association (HSBA) exists to connect Harvard students with the activities of the ABA. The ABA is the world’s largest professional organization for lawyers, existing to “be the national representative of the legal profession, serving the public and the profession by promoting justice, professional excellence and respect for the law.” The HSBA contributes to this mission by enabling students to explore crucial issues confronting the legal profession, to cultivate relationships with lawyers all over the country, and to take advantage of service projects and professional development opportunities that will continue long after graduation. In addition, the HSBA provides students with the opportunity to engage in leadership on a regional or national level, representing the interests of their fellow students in the Law Student Division of the ABA.
