Leadership and Committees
Are you curious about international development? A veteran aid worker or consultant? An international student looking to share your experience? The LIDS team is always excited to speak with current members, potential members, fellow students, practitioners and members of the alumni community! Although the main way students engage with LIDS is through participating in a Orrick-LIDS project, there are multiple ways to get involved in LIDS if participating in a project is not right for you or does not fit your schedule.

Join a committee.
Joining a committee is a great way for students to get involved with LIDS, particularly first-year students at Harvard Law School. We currently have two core committees:
- Events and Symposium: Invite development professionals to participate in events and help coordinate our annual symposium and/or International Women’s Day Event. Contact Co-VPs, Events: Akhila Kolisetty and Melanie Emmen.
- LIDS Live: Write content for LIDS Live, our exciting blog, on topics that interest you and participate in running and publishing LIDS Live behind the scenes. Contact Co-VPs, Press and Media: Elisa Dun and Ameya Naik.
We’re always looking for help from fellow students to develop evolving and new plans. In addition to the two core committees discussed above, please feel free to contact any of the VPs directly if you are interested in helping with their work. Learn more about the VPs on our Executive Board page.
For more information regarding membership, please contact VP, Community Ishita Kala. Ishita is also the primary point of contact for recent HLS admits interested in joining our organization.
