TII’s objectives include:

  1. Work with partners to address legal and regulatory barriers to trade and investment that hamper growth;
  2. Contribute to a comprehensive body of knowledge on opportunity-driven successes through TII’s projects and policy papers that share learning from specific cases;
  3. Help create an ecosystem of legal entrepreneurship, both within developing countries and between developed and developing countries. TII will identify key actors in the field, including university faculty, business mentors, investors, development agencies and legal experts;
  4. Encourage mentorship opportunities at every stage of the Opportunity Paradigm, thereby enabling experimental and cross-disciplinary learning.
  5. Leverage the broader Harvard community and other academic partners to develop and share solutions across disciplines;
  6. Help effect constructive, inclusive change and meaningful legal reform that reach all economic participants in developing countries.
