The HLS Mindfulness Society provides regular opportunities for HLS students, faculty, staff, and other HLS community members to practice silent meditation, and helps foster a community of law students who try to incorporate the practice of mindfulness in their daily lives. All are welcome, regardless of faith tradition.
Our main activities are our regular sittings: Tuesday mornings at 7:40 and Wednesday evenings at 6. The sittings are held in Langdell 352; for the Tuesday morning sit, we congregate in the lobby on the second floor of Langdell (by the circulation desk) at 7:30. Please contact us to be added to our weekly mailing list of HLS Mindfulness Society and other mindfulness-related Harvard events.
At the beginning of each sitting, someone will provide basic meditation instructions. So even if you’ve never meditated before, we hope you will join us and give it a try. If you already have a meditation practice, please consider sitting with us as we support each others’ intentions and practice.
Depending on interest, in the future we may undertake other activities, such as hosting speakers or organizing a group of students who are interested in attending a retreat together. If you would like to get involved in helping facilitate Mindfulness Society activities, please contact us.
